Sierra Northern has a variety of locomotives suitable for every passenger or freight train from the turn of the 20th century to today. The railroad has a 2-8-0 Consolidation-type steam engine for the 1900s-50s, a vintage F7 diesel from the 1940s-60s, and modern units that incorporate the latest technology. Unless noted locomotives are on the Ventura Division.
